About Growing Wealth

Hello fellow investor! Welcome to my blog.

My name is Bill Wiley, and I’m a financial professional living in our nation’s second largest financial center! San Francisco? Nope…not anymore … now the second largest financial center in the USA is Charlotte, North Carolina.

I have 15 years of experience in everything from startups and IPO’s … to stocks and bonds and everything under the sun!

Yep! I’ve seen a lot of things in my financial career… From the roaring Nineties…the bursting of the bubble in 2001…and the onset of the Great Recession in 2008.

The purpose of this blog is to be a resource and a voice of reason in these unreasonable and confusing times!

Growing wealth is not a complicated process, and it is not an impossible endeavor — but I’m not going to pretend it is easy. In fact, if it were easy there would be a lot more financially successful people than there are.

Why is such a blog important? Well…the statistics are frightening! If you take a group of 100 people, all of whom are starting their career today, when they are 65 years old:

  • 64 will be broke
  • 16 will be dead
  • 15 will have a retirement income of somewhere between $30-$50K
  • 5 will have a retirement income of more than $50K per year.

Take the wrong advice and you could end up anywhere — but in that last group. Like I said, “It’s not complicated, but it’s not easy.”

I invite you to comment, ask questions, and to recommend suggestions. I value your input, and I’d love to see this blog grow!
